Music Corner 3-4-2020

Hello all!

It’s been a while since the last edition of The Music Corner, and there has been so much music since then. I hope that you are all subscribed to our church’s YouTube channel, to catch up with our worship services, and to see what our Media Team consistently edits and uploads for your enjoyment and edification: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC9_QuEg0pQMS5Kh7mqZLDgA

And, going on with our musical musings, you’ve probably noticed the very drastic change of mood between our Mardi Gras Sunday and las week’s service… Yes, we are officially in the season of Lent, a season of reflection where the church walks along the ministry of Jesus Christ on earth, culminating with Holy Week. So, stay tuned for the music that is coming to our church, particularly during Holy Week, April 5 – 12.

And on a different note, but somehow related to our season of Lent, I am currently participating in a performance of Sweet Land, produced by The Industry in Downtown Los Angeles. Attached you’ll see a couple of articles published in the NY Times and the LA Times, with more information about this very relevant project that it is so timely for us, and so in tune with the spirit of this season, especially after Pastor Gary’s sermon on Jesus’ Tears.

Reminder: If you didn’t hear Pastor Gary’s sermon, subscribe to the YouTube channel so that you don’t miss anything ever again!

Wishing you all the very best, and looking forward to so many more meaningful worship opportunities at CUMC.
