This Sunday October 25, 2020 ~ “CUMC Youth Service – THE PANDEMIC EDITION“.
Next Sunday, November 1st ~ CUMC Youth Live Stream Fundraiser
Our CUMC youth read a book this summer called “A Long Walk to Water”, about a Sudanese boy who becomes a refugee after his village is attacked by rebels during a civil war. He becomes one of the “Lost Boys of Sudan”, wandering in the desert for years, from one refugee camp to another, until he is able to emigrate to the U.S. In order to help his country, he starts a non-profit called “Water for Sudan” to dig wells so the villages have safe, clean water.
Our youth were very moved by this book and decided they would like to help by raising money for Water for Sudan. This is where YOU come in! The youth are planning to do a virtual fundraiser on Sunday, Nov. 1st at 4pm and they need SPONSORS. The youth will be participating in a water relay. AND will have a dunk tank (that they built). How to give:
- Nominate someone for the dunk tank and donate $5 per pitch (youth will do the throwing)
- Call the church office during the livestream to donate – operators will be standing by! 805-482-4312 (Sunday Nov. 1, 2020 4-5pm)
- Give online here
For more information, contact the church office at 805-482-4312.
